The position involves recording and accurately transcribing all court proceedings. The individual will attend all sessions of the assigned county court-at-law and make a full record of evidence, objections, rulings, voir dire of jury duty, and arguments. The role requires taking full shorthand notes of closing arguments, oral testimony, and preserving all shorthand or machine notes for future use. The individual will also handle evidence presented in court and may assist the public and perform secretarial services.
