About The Position
The position involves providing shorthand reporting for court litigation, which includes making a verbatim record of oral court proceedings, depositions, or grand jury proceedings using shorthand, machine shorthand, or oral stenography. The role requires attendance at all court sessions as necessary and entails taking comprehensive shorthand notes of oral testimonies, objections, court rulings, judicial opinions, and other proceedings. The reporter must also read portions of transcripts during trials, clarify inaudible statements, and preserve notes for future reference. Additionally, the position may involve conducting depositions, reporting oral testimonies in contested probate matters, and operating specialized stenographic equipment. Other responsibilities include managing court exhibits, maintaining office supplies, and performing clerical support as needed.
