Court Rep for NET Delinquent Services

About The Position

SUMMARY: Maintain excellent professional relationships with Judges, District Attorneys, defense counsel, Probation, and other Court partners to facilitate program admissions and maintain NET’s credibility in Court. Participate in staff and program meetings, and in weekly supervision. • Review referrals to determine a person’s eligibility for NET Delinquent Services, including arrest case information, RAP sheet, attorney recommendations, and preliminary information about participant needs. • Engage potential participants and their legal representation in and around the courtroom. • Undertake screening interviews with potential participants to explain what NET programs offers to eligible youth. • Write professional and formal court reports that convey a participant’s progress in community supervision and programming to the court. • Accompany and/or represent NET clients to all Court appearances and advocate to judges, verbally and through written court reports. • Collaborate with NET colleagues in the community, who are providing services, to ensure the Court’s and Probation community supervision conditions are being met. • Participate in team case reviews for complex, high risk and media cases, including review of assessments, verbal, and written advocacy, as well as working with clinical staff to develop initial supervision and service plans when needed. • Notify the Court and/or Probation when participants are not in compliance, have gone missing (absconded), failed to report as required, been rearrested; etc. • Collect and track information on participants’ intake and re-arrest cases, as well as warrants. • Provide culturally competent oversight, supervision, and management of client information in accordance with NET policies and maintain the delivery of excellent court services regarding the representation of NET clients. • Receive court reports from Youth Worker, review and revise court report. Forward reviewed court report to necessary court staff.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or an equivalent and at least 60 college credits and or an associate degree. A bachelor’s degree is preferred for not required.
  • At least one year working with youth with complex behavioral concerns.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel at the intermediate to advanced level
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills to effectively problem-solve
  • Demonstrated ability to complete multiple tasks in a timely and accurate fashion in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in an administrative/clerical capacity required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with children, youth and families who experienced issues associated with Juvenile Delinquency and Dependency preferred
