About The Position

The Court Program Specialist II will perform case management functions for family law matters involving self-represented litigants under the supervision of the Domestic Relations Manager. The role includes assisting judges in family law divisions by reviewing new self-represented litigant cases prior to scheduled hearings, validating related filings, informing parties of deficiencies, and scheduling matters accordingly. The specialist will manage a high volume caseload, work closely with self-represented litigants to move cases towards final hearing, and work within existing guidelines to support a uniform case management system. Knowledge of Chapters 39 and 61 of Florida Statutes, the Rules of Civil Procedure, and Supreme Court approved forms is essential. The position also involves identifying cases that crossover between different divisions of the Unified Family Court, attending court hearings, making phone calls, meeting with walk-in litigants, preparing correspondence, and maintaining reports. The specialist must work independently while collaborating with the division judge, judicial assistant, and fellow Court Program Specialists.
