About The Position

The Third Judicial District is seeking applicants to fill a Court Operations Supervisor position in the Winona County Court Administration office. The Court Operations Supervisor leads the day-to-day operations of the Third Judicial District in Winona County. This position is responsible for administering and enforcing all relevant policies, reviewing, evaluating, planning, and streamlining daily functions while supervising staff within the court administration office. This position is also responsible for some day-to-day case related responsibilities. This position is classified as a Court Operations Supervisor and is located in the Winona County Courthouse, 171 West Third Street, Winona, MN 55987.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Court Operations Associate, Leadworker, or similar position and some supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of court procedures and policies, legal documents, laws and legal factors pertaining to the court or area of assignment
  • Thorough knowledge of the organization, operations, functions, and scope of authority of the court or activity to which assigned
  • Considerable knowledge of effective supervisory and management techniques
  • Ability to make work decisions in accordance with law, regulations and departmental policies and procedures
  • Ability to maintain a variety of complex records and prepare reports from such records
  • Ability to plan, assign, and supervise the work of subordinate employees engaged in a variety of court activities
  • Ability to express ideas concisely and clearly, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
  • Ability to show a high degree of respect for all customers and stakeholders with diverse backgrounds, viewpoints, needs, and experiences through courtesy and sensitivity

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, supervise and review the functions and daily operations of personnel in the divisions.
  • Establish workloads and schedules.
  • Analyze work processes and streamline procedures.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement new policies and procedures to comply with current statutes and regulations as they pertain to the team.
  • Interpret statutes, rules and orders and provide recommendations on procedural questions.
  • Review operational reports and implement corrective actions.
  • Hire, coach, develop and evaluate the performance of staff, acting as an effective role model to staff.
  • Participate in strategic planning for the team and implement plans where appropriate.
  • Provide leadership on special projects as directed.
  • Manage and respond timely and appropriately to day-to-day issues brought by judicial officers, staff, and justice partners.
  • Establish and review procedures; oversee implementation of new/revised policies and procedures in the division; recommend improvements in procedures and operational policy.
