The Fourth Judicial District is seeking a Court Operations Supervisor to provide operational leadership and daily oversight for the Facilities Team. This role is responsible for ensuring that courtroom, office, and public spaces remain safe, functional, and ready to support judicial operations. The supervisor oversees maintenance requests, office moves, supply procurement, space readiness, and facilities-related projects in partnership with Hennepin County Facility Services and external contractors. This position also provides direct supervision, coaching, and performance management for Facilities staff and supports district-wide initiatives through project execution and operational planning. This role is a primarily onsite, in-office position based out of the Hennepin County Government Center in downtown Minneapolis. Work will occur in any of the other five courthouses. Typical hours are 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, but may vary depending on business needs. The Minnesota Judicial Branch offers a comprehensive benefits package.   • Supervise Facilities Team staff responsible for 1,000+ annual maintenance requests, chamber relocations, courtroom setups, and district-wide facilities support.
  • Develop and maintain work schedules, balance workloads, and monitor task completion.
  • Resolve daily operational issues and escalate complex or strategic matters to the Court Operations Manager.
  • Oversee facilities-related purchases within established budget limits and ensure compliance with state and county procurement policies.
  • Ensure the functionality, safety, and accessibility of courtroom, office, and public spaces.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements, new procedures, and updates to align with statutes, regulations, and operational best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with Hennepin County building managers, engineers, and contractors to address facility needs.
  • Execute assigned tasks for district-wide projects including space planning, small-scale renovations, and courtroom readiness initiatives.
  • Attend construction and design meetings as needed to represent operational perspectives and requirements.
  • Coordinate logistical elements of facility-related projects with trade professionals and contractors.
  • Provide operational support for high-profile hearings, trials, and district events by ensuring appropriate setup, security coordination, and space readiness.
  • Assist with the judicial officer chamber bidding process and associated logistics.
  • Develop and maintain contingency plans to sustain court operations during facility outages or service interruptions.
  • Resolve maintenance, repair, and supply issues through daily coordination with Hennepin County Facility Services and contracted vendors.
  • Proactively communicate to district court staff and judicial officers about expected or non-expected facility work in courthouses.
  • Serve as a Facilities representative on internal committees, including Facilities and Security Committee.
  • Act as a point of contact for judicial officers and court staff regarding facility-related concerns, providing timely resolution and communication.
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent
  • Experience in an office or court setting
  • Any combination of training and work experience which indicates possession of the knowledge, abilities and skills listed below.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university OR Associate degree from an accredited college or plus 2 years of experience in a legal setting
  • Knowledge of effective supervisory techniques and performance management
  • Strong decision-making, critical-thinking, conflict-resolution, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain effective working relationships with judicial officers, staff, county partners, vendors, contractors, and the public
  • Ability to manage projects, coordinate stakeholders, and adapt to competing operational priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and ensure compliance with procurement policies
  • Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, OneNote, etc.) or similar applications
  • Project management experience
  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience
  • Lead experience on a team or in a project setting
