About The Position

The Tenth Judicial District, which includes eight counties in the Northern Suburbs of the Twin Cities Metro Area, is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Court Operations Associate to join the Anoka County Court Administration team in Anoka, MN. This position is responsible for managing trial and hearing exhibits, processing and preparing records for appeals, and providing operational backup support to the Jury Office. The role plays a critical part in ensuring exhibits and appellate records are accurately received, tracked, stored, prepared, and transmitted in accordance with court rules, statutes, and established procedures, while also supporting jury operations to ensure efficient and professional jury administration. This position requires strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage time-sensitive and confidential materials. The employee works collaboratively with judicial officers, attorneys, appellate courts, jurors, court staff, and the public to support court operations and ensure compliance with procedural requirements. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of relevant job experience or greater, which may include but is not limited to customer service, administrative work, office, and clerical work.
  • Ability to learn and apply rules of court, state statutes, case processing procedures, and local court policies.
  • Skill in navigating challenging situations and resolving conflicts in a respectful, professional, and courteous manner.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to convey information clearly to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service while working under pressure in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using a personal computer, including electronic case management systems, Microsoft Office, and other court-related applications and equipment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, judicial officers, justice partners, and the public.
  • Ability to support and communicate effectively with court users, including those with limited familiarity with the judicial system.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters appropriately and in compliance with applicable court rules, policies, and laws.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to analyze information accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, log, label, track, store, and return exhibits submitted for hearings and trials.
  • Ensure exhibits are properly documented, secured, and handled in compliance with court rules, statutes, and local procedures.
  • Maintain accurate exhibit records, admission status, retention requirements, and disposition.
  • Coordinate the movement of exhibits between courtrooms, chambers, secure storage, and external entities as required.
  • Respond to exhibit-related inquiries from judicial officers, attorneys, court staff, and the public.
  • Prepare, assemble, and transmit records for appellate review in accordance with rules of appellate procedure and court timelines.
  • Ensure district court records are complete, accurate, and properly indexed, including exhibits, transcripts, and related filings.
  • Coordinate with courtroom staff, judicial chambers, court reporters, and appellate courts regarding appeals processing.
  • Track appellate deadlines and ensure timely completion of required actions.
  • Respond to inquiries related to appeals status and record preparation.
  • Provide backup coverage for Jury Office operations as assigned.
  • Assist with juror check-in, orientation, and daily jury management activities.
  • Respond to juror questions in person, by phone, and electronically, using professionalism and discretion.
  • Assist with jury summons processing, attendance tracking, and related documentation.
  • Support jury operations during trials in coordination with courtroom staff.
  • Enter, update, and maintain accurate case-related information in the court’s case management system and shared electronic files.
  • Ensure compliance with established timelines, procedures, and documentation standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive, nonpublic, and sealed information.
  • Work collaboratively with judicial officers, supervisors, courtroom clerks, jury staff, and other court administration personnel.
  • Provide professional customer service to attorneys, litigants, jurors, law enforcement, and the public.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively regarding procedures, requirements, and case-related information.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support court operations.
  • Participates actively in team meetings, cross-training, and continuing education opportunities to maintain current knowledge of court processes and best practices.
