About The Position

The Tenth Judicial District, which includes eight counties in the Northern Suburbs of the Twin Cities Metro Area, is seeking qualified applicants for a Full-Time Temporary Court Operations Associate to join the Washington County Court Administration team in Stillwater, MN. This exciting temporary position involves delivering exceptional service to court customers, judges, and other court-related employees by processing and supporting courtroom functions in criminal, juvenile, family, civil and probate division case types. We are seeking individuals with a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a high-performance environment. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of relevant job experience or greater, which may include but is not limited to customer service, administrative work, office, and clerical work.
  • Ability to learn rules of court, state statutes, case processing, policies, and procedures of the area of court assigned.
  • Skill in navigating difficult situations and resolving conflict in a respectful and courteous manner.
  • Knowledge of basic math.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service while working under pressure in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Skill in the operation of a personal computer, including electronic case management system and related applications and equipment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others within and outside of the Judicial Branch.
  • Ability to effectively support court users who have limited experience with the judicial system.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters and files appropriately and in compliance with all applicable court rules, policies, and statutes.
  • Well organized, detail oriented, and analytical.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in Microsoft office Suite, with the ability to learn other job-related software.
  • Certificate or degree in a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of court procedures, policies, and records management.
  • Experience with electronic document applications, workflow queues and web-based video and audio platforms.
  • Comfortability addressing and speaking in front of groups of people.

Responsibilities

  • Performs in-court updating including processing documents filed and distributed in the courtroom, and recording required data in the electronic case management and other relevant systems in the courtroom.
  • Perform a variety of advanced clerical functions and multiple case types.
  • Provide assistance to attorneys, parties, judges, and the public by responding to a variety of questions in-person, over the phone, by mail, and/or electronically.
  • Perform courtroom support by working with judges, court reporters, and other justice partners, calling cases, taking notes, and handling documents in the courtroom.
  • Review, enter, record, and update case information using an electronic case processing system and related applications and equipment.
  • Schedule and maintain court calendars.
  • Perform independently the full scope of varied clerical court work relating to criminal and traffic case processing on the Minnesota Court Information System (MNCIS), electronic File and Serve.
  • Classify and verify appropriate document security levels of submitted filings.
  • Issue receipts for payment of court fees, fines, bail, and restitution; receive, review, process, and/or receipt amounts due for witness fees, transcripts, psychological examiners, court appointed attorneys, and interpreters.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
