These positions involve highly responsible and confidential legal work for Chief Judge Sarah E. Warner and the judges of the Kansas Court of Appeals. A research attorney reviews the briefs and underlying case record, research questions of law presented, prepares prehearing memoranda based on the facts of the case and applicable law, aids the judges in their decision-making, and performs other tasks as assigned. The Research Attorneys hired for these positions will be part of Chief Judge Warner's Special Unit. They will work on cases for multiple judges and may also be asked to conduct additional legal research and provide legal guidance relating to the administration of the Court of Appeals.
