Position: Court Liaison Job Type: Full-Time; Non-Exempt Shift Details: Monday-Friday / 8:00am-4:30pm Work Location: Evaluation & treatment Center - Fife, WA Salary/Hourly Wage: $38.00 - $41.00/hour Specialties / Licenses or Certifications: Summary of Job: The Mental Health Professional Court Liaison serves as a liaison to the court and ensures timely submittal and documentation of all court petitions and affidavits. The MHP Court Liaison works closely with guests, mental health and legal professionals, and other stake holders to navigate the court system and obtain additional collateral information that creates a recovery opportunity for everyone. The MHP Court Liaison will provide support to the members of the treatment team. The MHP Court Liaison promotes a No-Force-First environment, acts as an advocate for the needs and rights of every guest. Additionally, this position may be asked to cover duties for Clinician I, II, III in the event of callouts or vacations and will report to the Director of Operations. Essential Job Functions In partnership with the guest being served, the MHP Court Liaison files petitions with the courts, represents Recovery Innovations as an provides expert testimony in court proceedings and files all necessary reports with the providers and stakeholders. The MHP Court Liaison also contributes to the development of individualized treatment plans, and uses a recovery oriented, trauma informed approach to engage each guest in their recovery journey. Documents information and service provided in electronic health record assuring continuity of service record and utilize it as a tool for communication with other team members. Ensures completion of designated assessments and legal documentation of all guests brought to the facility, participates in the development of individualized treatment plans and recovery solutions in partnership with the program participants. Partners with the program participants to obtain collateral information from the person's support team such as family members, friends, case managers and other area programs based on the person's preferences. Obtains details of advanced directives such as mental health care power of attorney and WRAP crisis plans to partner with the person to design and plan care. Provide information to each person served about their legal status, their service options and the process of care including legal proceedings and rights and discharge disposition. Determine a provisional diagnosis, obtain documentation of medical necessity and submit authorizations for service in a timely fashion. Meets with team to communicate information obtained, communicate the preferences of a person being served and offer recommendations concerning the plan of service and plan of discharge. In partnership with the participants, serves as an advocate with other agencies and service providers obtaining the most effective recovery oriented and trauma informed outcome for each individual and participate in the implementation of the discharge plan in collaboration with the treatment team and each participant. Either directly or by delegation to other team members provides coordination of care with the participant's natural supports, area programs, community resources etc. Assures timelines are met for involuntary evaluation detention and treatment proceedings. Assures incident reports are initiated completed and reviewed and submitted according to agency policy. Provides leadership and guidance for clinical staff on the assigned shift to create a well-functioning team in which each team member fully contributes to creating recovery opportunities and culture. Documentation Documents relevant and required information and services provided in the identified service record (electronic or otherwise) assuring continuity of care as a tool for communication with other team members. Maintain and observe all HIPAA regulations that apply. Provide timely quality and accurate documentation in accordance with program standards. Safety / Physical Environment Participate as a team member to provide a safe trauma informed recovery environment, utilizes infection control and other safety standards. Contributes to the cleanliness of the workplace.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in psychology, social work or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Designated as a mental health professional in accordance with WAC 388-895-0150.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience providing psychosocial / mental health services and or crisis intervention services in a mental health or behavioral health setting.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Two (2) years or more experience involving the Criminal Justice system or as an employee within the criminal justice system (i.e. probation, parole, CIT officer, department social worker etc.)
  • A Master's degree in Community Counseling, Psychology, Psychiatric rehabilitation, or Social Work
  • Must have a current Healthcare Provider CPR Certification
  • Must be able to complete de-escalation training as defined by state requirements.
  • Completion of First Aid Certification
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old unless residing in a state where funder or government regulations set a different minimum age requirement.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality (HIPAA guidelines and regulations) and professionalism.
  • Must be able to pass a seven-year background check.
  • Must be able to pass substance abuse testing and/or tuberculous testing (if applicable).
  • Must be able to obtain designated fingerprinting clearance in applicable states.
  • Must be able to pass education verification check.
  • Must be able to pass three-year motor vehicle report and meet minimum eligibility requirements criteria of insurance carrier (if driving is required for this position).

Nice To Haves

  • Independent Licensure in good standing in an applicable Behavioral Health field preferred.
  • Lived experience preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Trauma Informed Care experience is preferred
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Associate License in good standing in an applicable Behavioral Health field preferred.
