About The Position

The Court Liaison provides coordination of clinically indicated services to individuals and the courts, for clients receiving court ordered services. Covers Court/Hearing procedures. This position is onsite at the facility and is not a remote position.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Two or more years of related experience in psychiatric/addiction treatment facility required.
• Ability to work with population served by the facility.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or other health field preferred.
• Understanding of court/criminal justice system and structure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drafts and submits petitions, notices, affidavits/certificates of service and denial rights motions with the court on behalf of the client and the facility.
• Provides all relevant information from the court hearing to the appropriate department at the facility.
• Compiles, maintains and tracks the mental health court appearances and evaluation appointments for all clients admitted to the facility on an involuntary basis.
• Communicates effectively with court clerks, court-appointed doctors, public defenders and various court personnel in order to coordinate and deliver correct client information for hearings and evaluations.
• Assembles chart materials for mental health court evaluations and hearings to provide evidence for each client’s hold.
• Communicates client court progression with appropriate departments at the facility.
• Ensures accurate and timely documentation of relevant activities.
• Complies with organizational policies, procedures, performance improvement initiatives and maintains regulatory and industry standards.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Accepts responsibility for professional growth and development of self and attends all mandatory facility in-services and staff development activities as scheduled.
• Maintains professionalism and confidentiality of facility employees and clients.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
