About The Position

The position involves providing coordination of clinically indicated services to individuals and the courts for persons receiving court-ordered services. This includes drafting and submitting necessary legal documents, maintaining communication with various court personnel, and ensuring accurate documentation of activities related to mental health court appearances.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Two or more years' of related experience required.
• Understanding of court/criminal justice system and structure preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in social work or health field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Draft and submit petitions, notices, affidavits/certificates of service and denial rights motions with the court on behalf of the patient and the facility.
• Provide all relevant information from the court hearing to the appropriate department at the facility.
• Compile, maintain and track the mental health court appearances and evaluation appointments for all patients admitted to the facility on an involuntary basis.
• Communicate effectively with court clerks, court-appointed doctors, public defenders and various court personnel to coordinate and deliver correct patient information for hearings and evaluations.
• Assemble chart materials for mental health court evaluations and hearings to provide evidence for each patient's hold.
• Communicate patient court progression with appropriate departments at the facility.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of relevant activities.
• Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
