Summary Travels to local courts and retrieves data via computer/web-based systems, or by accessing files and other documents related to the applicant’s history from the county clerks. Locates information quickly and accurately in accordance with applicable state laws and procedures. Retrieves and enters data from computer/web-based systems, files, and other documents related to the applicant’s history. Uses software programs to enter criminal results to clients. Examines internet databases and court records to help investigate and adjudicate criminal records. Performs data entry using spreadsheet or database commands. Performs extensive in-person inquiries and searches to supplement criminal records. Analyzes information collected to identify potential problems or discrepancies. Updates order statuses appropriately. Proactively updates supervisor regarding any delays that would impact our business or clients; issues regarding access to court systems, records, or staff needed in order to conduct research; changes in courthouse structure, processes or fees; and any current quality or trending issues. Handles confidential information responsibly and with good judgment. Communicates with and establishes positive working relations with court personnel and others necessary to successfully complete required tasks. Monitors and implements processing and system changes. Other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to assigned court locations daily or as needed is required.
  • Minimum of $300,000 primary liability coverage maintained under personal auto insurance policy.
  • Familiarity with local court systems, procedures, and deadlines is required.
  • Experience performing record research by physically visiting local court locations is required.
  • Experience in customer service or with research/investigations is required.
  • Experience with research on a court case management system is required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required.
  • Driver’s license and ability to maintain a driving record that is satisfactory to the company’s liability insurance carrier is required.
  • 6 months is required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the legal/court system is preferred.
  • Experience with background screening is preferred.
  • Relevant business management systems such as general ledger, HRIS, CRM, etc. is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • 2 years is preferred.
