The Washington County Circuit Court in Hillsboro, Oregon, is hiring a Court Facilitator/Protection Order Clerk (Court Facilitator) to join our team in the Family Law Assistance Program. In this role, you will help self-represented family law litigants by providing information about our court and explaining the processes and procedures for family law cases. You will help the litigants complete child support calculation worksheets and a variety of court forms. You will help facilitate family law workshops that cover topics such as dissolution, child support, custody, and parenting time. You will also support the Northwest Oregon Facilitator Initiative program. Additionally, you will process protective orders, new petitions, and other electronic filings. You will perform data entry and scan documents into the electronic case management system. You will update case party details as needed. You will coordinate with the Specialty Docket Clerk to schedule and prepare dockets for contested case hearings. You will make and certify copies. You will also route orders and judgments to judges for review and ruling. You will work with the public, judges, court staff, the Family Justice Center, abuse prevention advocates, law enforcement, the District Attorney’s office, Hillsboro Adult Protective Services, and other community partners. The support you provide will be in person, over the phone, and in writing. Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs.

Requirements

  • The qualified candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least three (3) years of clerical experience in a moderately complex office or business setting involving the processing of financial, administrative, or legal documents.
  • OR Any combination of education and experience equivalent to three (3) years of experience that typically supports the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency is preferred.
