About The Position

Overview Utah State University (USU) Libraries seeks a collaborative, innovative, and service-minded professional to join the Collections and Discovery team. Reporting to the Resource Sharing Manager in the Collections and Resource Sharing program, the Library Coordinator (Course Materials and Access Coordinator) position will help to identify and enable access to electronic e-books and textbooks, troubleshoot electronic resource issues, and ensure library resources meet appropriate visual accessibility standards. This position will participate in a library-wide team that works to support student affordability efforts. Work time for this position is split equally between course materials, e-resource troubleshooting, and e-resource accessibility review, though fluctuation is expected throughout the academic year. Salary is a minimum of $49,000, plus excellent benefits including a 14.2% (starting at $6,958) annual retirement contribution. Requirements

  • Four years of relevant experience; or an Associate’s degree plus two years of relevant experience; or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including listening, speaking, and writing.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of library collections, catalogs, research databases, and other research tools.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with faculty, students, university employees, and the general public.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing assignments and needs.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and assistive technologies.
  • Demonstrated software troubleshooting skills.
  • Project management experience.
  • Customer service experience.

Responsibilities

  • Compare course-assigned resources against the library catalog to identify available print and digital materials and/or identify potential acquisitions.
  • Review and respond to requests for course materials.
  • Provide technical support for electronic resource access problems.
  • Maintain high level of proficiency with library databases and platforms.
  • Review databases and platforms for digital accessibility compliance.
  • Gather and maintain vendor-supplied accessibility statements.
  • Provide exceptional customer service via email, phone, or other mediums, as needed.
  • Coordinate and work as a part of the Resource Sharing and E-Resource teams.
  • Develop and maintain effective working partnerships with other departments of the library and partners on campus.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
