About The Position

Work with faculty and staff in building courses for the current LMS platform. Builds digital learning objects to produce engaging and effective instructional materials. Implements assessments and testing for distance learning courses. Provides training to faculty about general functions of the LMS systems and course functions. Provides technical support for faculty and students and documents frequent issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Instructional Technologies, Education or related field and three years of related experience.
  • Experience communicating with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills with members of other internal teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of learning management systems (BlackBoard, Canvas).
  • Hands-on experience developing instructional materials for LMS such as BlackBoard, Canvas, etc.
  • Advanced user of MS-Office.
  • Experience with documentation development for non-technical audiences, and/or technical writing.
  • Experience with technical or other phone and email support.
  • Ability to rapidly interpret Faculty' ideas into course implementation processes.
  • Instructional Design skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Apple products (iPad, Apple Office Software).
  • Experience with web authoring software such SoftChalk, VoiceThread, GoReact, Panopto, etc.
  • Graphic Design skills in software such as Venngage, Canva, or Adobe Products.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with Faculty to design and develop highly interactive courses/modules using multimedia technology and authoring tools for online delivery of new and existing courses.
  • Develops and uses Leaning Management System (LMS) functionality to produce engaging content, plus hands-on exercises, assignments, assessments, etc.
  • Uses authoring tools including those for producing text, graphics, animation, sound, and video.
  • Provides process improvement and instructional design support for educational materials.
  • Develops and executes project plans to ensure timely delivery of educational materials.
  • Assist Faculty in existing course content revision and continuing courses/modules updates, development and maintenance.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with team members, colleagues, and faculty and student clients.
  • Provide timely and thorough documentation of projects.
  • Trains faculty, staff, and students on using, maintaining and administrating LMS courses and/or education technology software and tools.
  • Develops and delivers training materials for nontechnical audiences on using education technology resources.
  • Provides technical support over email and phone for tools and software related to education technology.
  • May assist with grants projects requiring learning support.
  • Performs related duties as required.
