POSITION SPECIFICS (Add in job title, FTE details from the job requisition) Title: Courier (part-time; .4 FTE) FTE: .4 FTE (32 hours per pay period) Schedule: Monday to Friday 9:00am to 4:00pm (Week 1 Mon/Tue; Week 2 Wed/Thur/Fri) Holiday Rotation: None Weekend Rotation: None On Call Requirements: None POSITION SUMMARY Pick up, sort, and deliver needed supplies, lab specimens, and miscellaneous items for departments and clinics, as well as transporting outgoing mail and bank deposits, using the hospital supplied van. Role ensures timely, safe and confidential delivery of essential item that directly support patient care. POSITION TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES Pick up and deliver interdepartmental mail, lab specimens, x-rays, supplies, laundry, bank deposits, etc. between the hospital, clinics and administrative buildings. Ensure temperature-sensitive items are handled and stored appropriately. Ensure proper handling, packaging, labeling, and documentation for all transported items in compliance with regulatory standards (HIPAA, OSHA, DOT, and infection control guidelines). Deliver U.S. mail from hospital to the Post Office. Communicate professionally with clinical, laboratory, pharmacy, and administrative staff. Maintain hospital-owned vehicle, including fueling, cleaning, maintenance needs and scheduled maintenance. Maintain and adhere to assigned daily courier schedule. Report any driving violations (moving or non-moving) or status change of driver's license to supervisor. Must maintain acceptable driver's license status in accordance with established hospital policy. Assist with inventory movement, supply runs, and special projects as needed. Comply with hospital policies, state regulations and safety protocols. Other duties as assigned.
