Couriers are a critical component of providing customer service throughout the organization. Carries out all duties while maintaining compliance and confidentiality and promoting the mission and philosophy of the organization.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Experience operating a vehicle in all weather and traffic conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to sit and drive for long periods of time.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal & problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to engage others, listen and adapt response to meet others’ needs.
  • Ability to align own actions with those of other team members committed to common goals.
  • Excellent computer and keyboarding skills, including familiarity with Windows.

  • Two (2) or more years of experience operating vehicles for business purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for picking up and delivering items, including but not limited to: vaccines, mail, supplies, lab specimens and bank deposits, to and from assigned locations in a timely manner.
  • Drives a defined pick-up and delivery route as scheduled and at the times specified on the Courier Schedule.
  • Responsible for ensuring that vaccine and lab deliveries are kept in coolers at the proper temperature and must document delivery of vaccines.
  • Responsible for ensuring bank deposits are signed for upon pick-up and delivered to bank in accordance with the company’s policy and defined schedule.
  • Follows bank protocol, which may include presenting driver’s license for deposit.
  • Obeys all traffic laws and follows safe traffic and transportation procedures.
  • Maintains on-time delivery schedule while handling occasional STAT requests.
  • Maintains professionalism in all interactions including in use of language, attire, and demeanor.
  • Maintains cleanliness and order in work area.
  • Maintains cleanliness in company vehicles.
  • Handles routine maintenance of the organization’s vehicles including oil changes, tire rotations, etc., per manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Notifies supervisor of vehicle repair needs.
  • Adheres to all company policies, including but not limited to, OSHA, HIPAA, compliance and Code of Conduct.
  • Regular and dependable attendance.
  • Follows the core competencies set forth by the Company, which are available for review on CMSweb.
  • Participates actively as part of the Central Distribution team including cross-training and providing cross coverage on all routes, identifying potential efficiencies, implementing cost-saving strategies, and improving service.
  • Assists in filling requisitions as requested by supervisor.
  • Checks in deliveries as needed.
  • Answers phone calls as requested and takes messages as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
