About The Position

Posting Job Description osition Purpose: Responsible for the delivery of laboratory specimens, mail and supplies between affiliated MercyOne facilities and laboratory customers. What you will Do: Transports laboratory specimens, mail and other materials and/or supplies utilizing excellent customer service skills. Follows established procedures and policies including infection control and bloodborne pathogens. Handles chemicals according to established safety protocols. Meets defined workload productivity standards. Supports and utilizes LEAN principles. Utilizes courier logistical software and devices to track packages and document route Ensures temperature dependent materials are transported at their required storage temperature. Maintains cleanliness of vehicles and courier bags. Attends and participates in department huddles. Follows established policies and procedures to accurately track packages and obtain optimal transport time. Participates in teaching peers. Requirements

  • High school degree or GED, required.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Valid Driver’s/Chauffeurs License required, must meet MercyOne’s Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, must be at least 18 years of age and be eligible to drive per Iowa state law.
  • Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training for child and dependent adult abuse within three (3) months of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Two years’ experience as a courier, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of materials management preferred.
