The Courier is responsible for the timely and secure transport of laboratory samples and materials between collection sites and designated laboratory branches. This role ensures the integrity of specimens, maintains accurate documentation, and delivers exceptional service in compliance with safety and traffic regulations.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Strong time management and punctuality
  • Attention to detail in handling and documenting samples
  • Ability to follow route instructions and adjust to unexpected conditions
  • Basic customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain accurate records using digital tools
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Able to lift, carry, and transport items up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to sit and drive for extended periods
  • Capable of entering and exiting a vehicle repeatedly during a shift

Responsibilities

  • Load all necessary supplies needed for the daily pickups
  • Complete daily pick-up schedule in a timely manner
  • Deliver all daily picks to branches at the end of your shift
  • Perform long distance drives across the local Midwest area to perform sample pick ups
  • Handle lab samples in a safe and efficient manner according to standard operating procedures
  • Safely operate a company vehicle and obey all traffic laws
  • Utilize handheld electronic device to manage daily picks up
  • Evaluate traffic patterns, alternative routes, and weather conditions as needed
  • Provide professional and courteous service when interacting with clients and branch staff.
  • Perform long distance drives across the local Midwest area to perform sample pick ups
  • Identify and resolve minor issues related to pick up or delivery delays.
  • Other such tasks may be assigned from time to time consistent with the objectives of the position and the laboratory sample receiving team
