About The Position

Buckeye Union School District is committed to responsible stewardship of public resources and to building an inclusive workplace. We are seeking a reliable and service-oriented Courier to support district operational needs. This role ensures timely and accurate delivery of school lunches to sties, mail, packages, and interoffice materials across schools and district sites, contributing to smooth daily operations and effective communication. Role Overview The Courier will perform delivery and pickup duties for mail, packages, documents, and other materials between district offices, schools, and external vendors. This position requires punctuality, careful handling of materials, good communication skills, and the ability to follow established routes and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Valid California driver’s license and a clean driving record; ability to obtain and maintain any required district driving authorization
  • Ability to lift, carry, and deliver packages up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Strong punctuality, reliability, and time-management skills
  • Good communication and customer service skills; ability to interact professionally with staff, students, and vendors
  • Basic recordkeeping skills and comfort using mobile devices for route documentation and communication
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive materials and adhere to district policies

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in delivery, mailroom, or related customer service role preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deposits sites' bank deposits for the purpose of ensuring collected monies are safely deposited
  • Monitors food temperature for the purpose of maintaining safe serving temperatures of lunches delivered to school sites.
  • Collect, sort, and deliver incoming and outgoing mail and packages to district sites and designated external locations
  • Operate district vehicle safely and responsibly; perform daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs
  • Prepare shipping labels, maintain delivery logs, and document chain-of-custody for confidential or sensitive materials
  • Pick up and deliver time-sensitive items, including payroll materials, student records, and instructional materials
  • Coordinate with school and office staff to arrange special deliveries and ensure accurate recipient verification
  • Maintain organized and secure storage of mail and packages at the central mailroom or designated site
  • Assist with bulk mail preparation, postage metering, and basic mailroom equipment operation as needed
  • Follow district policies regarding confidentiality, parking, and campus entry procedures
  • Support other facilities or M&O staff with related tasks as assigned to meet district operational needs
