The Courier Team Lead will help drive the day-to-day logistics activities, ensuring efficient coordination, and driving continuous improvement within the logistics department. This position will report to the Logistics Supervisors and the Logistics Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, operations management, or a closely related field preferred but not required AND three (3) years of professional experience in logistics/courier management; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Active driver's license
  • Principles and practices of logistics management
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for moving people or goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits.
  • Business and management principles involved in planning, resource allocation, resources modeling, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Principles and practices of financial/statistical analysis.
  • Advanced principles and practices of developing teams, motivating employees, and managing in a team environment.
  • Applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Computer applications and systems related to the work.
  • Techniques for dealing with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Principles and techniques of making effective oral presentations.
  • Correct business English, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Planning, organizing, and administering assigned activities, programs, and projects.
  • Experience with helping make business decisions
  • Training others on company policies and other requirements of the job
  • Leading effective work teams and motivating individuals to meet goals and objectives and provide customer services most cost-effectively and efficiently.
  • Interpreting, applying, and explaining applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Preparing clear and concise correspondence, and other written materials to various levels of the organization.
  • Using initiative and independent judgment within established organizational and leadership guidelines.
  • Able to create and foster working relationships with clients, coworkers and management

  • Being able to effectively contribute to the Service Center's and company goals

Responsibilities

  • Assist Logistics supervisors and manager in coordinating inbound and outbound logistics activities, including shipping, receiving, and transportation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and reduce operational bottlenecks.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for shipments, inventory, and other logistics activities.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement efficiency initiatives to enhance overall logistics performance.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Help manage inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing holding costs.
  • Implement effective inventory control measures, including regular cycle counts and reconciliations.
  • Picks up, transports and delivers samples, documents, materials and other items as needed.
  • Reviews, completes and processes documents, databases, and related materials and information for sample pick up, transport and delivery.
  • Prepares vehicle or truck for daily operations, including documents, safety, and related areas.
