About The Position
The position involves operating company vehicles to ensure the timely and efficient delivery and pick-up of packages. The employee will be responsible for checking shipments to ensure they conform to FedEx's service features. Coverage for all assigned routes within the station's service area is required, along with providing related customer service functions. The role may also include performing other duties as assigned by management. A neat appearance is essential due to the customer contact involved in the job. Employees must meet and maintain qualifications as outlined in federal motor carrier safety regulations, which includes passing a medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations. Specific requirements for operating a company vehicle must be adhered to, as detailed in policy 4-48. Additionally, employees must obtain and maintain a valid driver's license according to state requirements for the type of vehicle assigned and must have a good driving record as outlined in company policy. This position is classified as non-covered safety sensitive, meaning it requires the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
