Courier/Swing Drvr/DOT
About The Position
Facilitate in the defensive driving protocols for the station, new hires, and current staffing. Foster a safer work environment. Assist in the achievement of FedEx safety metrics. HDDI position To promote safe driving methods. Provide additional defensive driving coaching for employees identified by safety and local management. Conduct the Upgrade Road Test training and evaluation for non-DOT Type 10 drivers to operate DOT Type 20 vehicles Willing to work flexible shifts/days and travel to deliver training. Have a current/valid DOT Medical card and current/valid driver’s license on their person at all times during certification and delivering training. Conduct Defensive Driving training classes. Travel to other locations to support training as needed. Provide detailed documentation to Regional Training Instructor on all classes and students Will perform as Ops lead, when HDDI duties are not needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED.
- Six (6) months courier experience preferred.
- Must be able to demonstrate area knowledge.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person.
- Good human relations and verbal communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge of the station's service area preferred.
- Demonstrated skills in adaptability, dependability, and excellent courier methods.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials and to respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.
- Neat appearance since customer contact is required.
- Must meet and maintain the qualifications as outlined in the federal motor carrier safety regulations.
- Requires medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations.
- Must obtain and maintain a valid driver's license in accordance with your state requirements for type of vehicle assigned and have good driving record as outlined in policy.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
