About The Position
As a Courier/Swing Driver/Non-DOT at FedEx, you will be responsible for operating company vehicles to ensure the timely and efficient delivery and pick-up of packages. This role requires you to check shipments for compliance with FedEx's service features and provide coverage for all assigned routes within the station's service area. You will also be expected to perform related customer service functions, ensuring that all interactions with customers are courteous and professional. In addition to these primary duties, you may be assigned other tasks as needed to support the operations of the station. The position demands a neat appearance, as you will have direct contact with customers. You must meet and maintain the qualifications outlined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations, which include specific requirements for employees operating company vehicles. This is a non-covered safety-sensitive position, meaning that while you will be responsible for driving, you will not be subject to the same regulations as those in safety-sensitive roles. It is essential to maintain a constant state of alertness and operate in a safe manner at all times. To be successful in this role, you should possess good human relations and verbal communication skills, as well as a thorough knowledge of the station's service area. Demonstrated skills in adaptability, dependability, and excellent courier methods are crucial. You must be able to lift packages weighing up to 50 lbs and maneuver heavier packages with the appropriate equipment or assistance from others. This position offers full-time hours, with various shifts available from Monday to Friday, and a starting pay of $23.52 per hour.
