About The Position

As one of our Part Time Courier’s, you will play a key role in the pick-up and delivery of patient specimens and supplies at health care site(s). Maintains integrity of specimens to be tested. Handles infectious and hazardous materials safely in compliance with departmental and regulatory agency guide lines. Works with other team members to assure the needs of clients. Reports to Laboratory Supervisor and Administrative Director. Drives hospital vehicle to transport reports, supplies, mail and financial documents. Location: Anacortes, WA / Onsite Schedule: 0.4 FTE or 0.6 FTE / Part Time / Days Salary Range: $18.62/hr.- $27.13/ hr. Handles infectious and hazardous materials safely in compliance with departmental and regulatory agency guidelines. Maintains pick-up/delivery schedule and ensures that all items arrive in a timely and secure manner. Maintains log book of all special deliveries. Uses cellular phone to receive delivery/pick-up instructions. Documents any issues/problems with specimens or clients. Safely drives a hospital owned vehicle to accomplish client visits. Constantly practices good safety habits to prevent on-the-job injuries. Must have demonstrated ability to interact positively with Administration, Directors, Managers, Supervisors, peers, co-workers, subordinates, patients and visitors. Must meet regular attendance standard and must stay at or below average sick leave utilization levels. Commitment to Team: Develops and facilitates good working relationships with superiors, physicians, staff members and co-workers/peers. Contributes in problem-solving activities intra-and inter-departmentally. Demonstrates flexible staffing needs within the department. Uses department resources (supplies, equipment) in a cost- effective manner. Communicates effectively and in a timely manner to medical director, co-workers and physicians through informal updates, written and verbal communications. Consistently meets attendance standards and follows the department standards for "calling in" and requesting time off. Must accept responsibility to model all facets of cooperative team member dynamics. Examples of these include not verbalizing grievances regarding another team member, but rather seeking out individuals and resolving those differences. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current Washington State Driver’s License
  • Current Vehicle Insurance Policy
  • Acceptable Driving Record (by standards of hospital policy)
