About The Position

SGS is seeking a Courier and Laboratory Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for picking up and delivering samples from clients, project sites, and field staff in a timely and professional manner. This role requires adherence to traffic laws and established transportation procedures, ensuring proper documentation, labeling, and chain-of-custody during transport. Additionally, the candidate will maintain records such as vehicle logs and cargo records in accordance with company regulations, while effectively communicating with clients and internal staff regarding scheduling and deliveries. In the laboratory technician capacity, the individual will receive, log, and prepare samples for analysis according to established protocols. The technician will assist analysts with routine testing, preparation, and basic instrumentation tasks, perform data entry, documentation, and quality control checks to maintain accurate records, and support inventory management and general laboratory upkeep. Following all safety procedures and quality standards is essential in this role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED Required
  • Valid Drivers License Required
  • Clean driving record Required
  • Punctual, reliable, and exercises good judgment
  • Ability to interact with clients as a responsible representative of the company
  • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast paced, highly professional environment.
  • Close Vision (clear vision at 20 inches/50 centimeters or less) Required
  • Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet/6 meters or more) Required
  • Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given post) Required
  • Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distance and three-dimensional relationship) Required
  • Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus) Required
  • Ability to see color Required

Responsibilities

  • Pick up and deliver samples from clients, project sites, and field staff in a timely and professional manner.
  • Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
  • Ensure proper documentation, labeling, and chain-of-custody procedures during transport.
  • Maintain records such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements in accordance with company regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal staff regarding scheduling and deliveries.
  • Receive, log, and prepare samples for analysis according to established protocols.
  • Assist analysts with routine testing, preparation, and basic instrumentation tasks.
  • Perform data entry, documentation, and quality control checks to maintain accurate records.
  • Follow all safety procedures, quality standards (AIHA, NVLAP, ELAP, etc.), and laboratory SOPs.
  • Support inventory management and general laboratory upkeep.
