About The Position

The position is responsible for picking up and delivering laboratory specimens, reports and supplies, pharmaceuticals, medical/surgical equipment, medical records, and documents as needed during the shift. The role includes handling STAT pick-ups as requested and assisting in the laboratory with checking requisitions. The individual will perform specimen records for laboratory specimens using Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Hospital Information Systems (HIS) for order accessioning, labeling, delivery, and report preparation. Additionally, the position involves answering phone calls and delivering samples for testing, as well as assisting with processing as needed. Other duties may be assigned as required.

Requirements

• Possession of a valid and clean NYS driver's license.
• Associate's Degree.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility and dependability.
• Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a positive attitude.
• Physical ability to walk, bend, push, pull, and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• 1-2 years of prior clinical lab experience.
