Join the Wayne County Area Agency on Aging as a County Social Services Aide 1 with our Adult Daily Living Center in Hawley. Our small and dedicated Adult Daily Living Center provides a structured program of activities and health related services for older adults as well as respite to family members who are caring for their loved ones. This is your chance to help meet a key community need with our team! With our team, you will provide a variety of services to care for the social, mental, and physical support needs of clientele of the center. These services include personal care, taking and recording vitals, serving snacks and meals, feeding assistance, planning and providing recreational activities, assisting with ambulation, and generally overseeing participants during their time with us. Participants who may have been isolated get to interact with peers, share in activities, and benefit from new friendships. Being a people-person is key as you will become familiar with each individual client, participate in their care planning and treatment goals, and get to know who they are as a person. Your work will rely on your awareness of policies and regulations that keep our participants safe. On the job training is provided and close supervision is provided by a Licensed Practical Nurse.
