About The Position

The Developmental Services Program Specialist (County Intellectual Disabilities Program Specialist 1) position focuses on ensuring the quality of new and existing service providers and is with the Westmoreland County Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (BHDS) office located in downtown Greensburg behind the Courthouse. Requirements

• Two years of professional experience in the field of intellectual disabilities, and a bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Must meet the PA residency requirement.
• Must pass a background investigation.
• A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
• Must submit and have satisfactory criminal history reports including PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the provider programs that serve the Intellectual Disabilities/Autism (ID/A) community of Westmoreland County.
• Administer, plan, coordinate, implement, monitor, and provide technical assistance for a portion of the ID/A program under the direction of the DS Program Director, BHDS Deputy Administrator, and BHDS Administrator.
• Qualify new and existing ID/A providers into Pennsylvania's ID/A provider network.
• Assist in conducting quality assessment and improvement oversight of the county's providers.
• Act as the point person for performance-based contracting.
• Provide support to the provider risk screening process.
• Act as a co-lead for the administrative review committee.
• Coordinate with other offices to ensure smooth and effective service delivery.
