About The Position

Mariposa County, a breathtaking rural mountain community with Yosemite National Park in its backyard, is seeking a hands-on and self-directed California attorney with a comprehensive understanding of all pertinent laws and regulations. Located, in the wonderfully rural and picturesque western foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains, the County offers a rich variety of cultural and recreational resources including local theater, music, and the arts, as well as an abundance of outdoor activities such as camping, biking, hiking, and fishing. The County is seeking an experienced attorney with a broad background, solid communication skills, and substantial experience in land use law, labor law, civil litigation, county or related government law, and public contract law. Requires five years of increasingly responsible professional legal work, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity, and possession of current membership in the State Bar of California. The annual salary is $201,034 with salary increases scheduled for the next two years. The County offers an outstanding benefits package that includes the 2% @ 55 formula for Classic CalPERS Members and $1,474 / month flexible benefits.
