About the position

The Country Limits and Cross-Border Risk Analyst at the AVP (C12) level will support Citi's Global Country Risk team in managing country limits and cross-border risk. This role involves assessing risks associated with non-US government actions that may affect Citi's financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing analytical support for decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

  • Help to appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, considering the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients, and assets.
  • Coordinate annual Country and Franchise Reviews and Country Risk Counsel processes, including deck preparation and documentation.
  • Respond to cross-border limit approval requests from country franchises and global businesses by preparing analytics and developing recommendations.
  • Engage with business and risk managers in discussions on cross-border related topics, including regulatory reserves preparation.
  • Participate in Cross-Border Risk Policy review and governance documents, conducting periodic revisions of Cross-Border Product Programs.
  • Provide support for cross-border related inquiries and oversee reporting aspects of cross-border exposures.
  • Propose recommendations on changes in country limits based on deteriorated risk profiles and monitor performance against triggers.
  • Enhance analytical tools to support country limits approval processes.
  • Participate in various projects related to country limits and cross-border risk.
  • Stay updated on macroeconomic and political changes in assigned countries and participate in discussions on internal country classifications.

Requirements

  • 5 to 8 years of experience in banking/risk management position, with basic knowledge of credit risk and credit-/market-based products preferred.
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, and organized.
  • Ability to perform individually assigned tasks and meet deadlines without additional supervision.
  • Good communication skills for negotiation with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Project management and multitasking skills, with experience in assessing and managing competing priorities.
  • Comfort navigating complex, highly-matrixed organizations.
