About The Position

Joko is a tech company and certified B Corp, founded in Paris with over 90 talents across Paris, Barcelona, and New York. Their mission is to revolutionize shopping by empowering consumers to find what they need, make informed decisions, and save money. With over 6 million users and 10,000+ merchants, Joko offers features like cashback, automatic coupons, price alerts, and carbon tracking. They are currently building an AI-powered shopping assistant and are scaling globally, with a strong focus on the US, and Spain planned as the next country launch in 2027. The International Expansion team is responsible for designing the global strategy and coordinating all teams to ensure fast and efficient delivery. This team reports to the CEO and comprises a central team that builds playbooks and operating models, and local country teams led by a Country Launcher, providing deep local expertise. As Country Launcher for Spain, your main mission will be to launch Joko in Spain and ensure its success, owning the launch, building foundations, driving execution, and coordinating teams to achieve momentum. You will report to the Head of International Expansion and work closely with Joko’s founders, the central International Expansion team, and the International Expansion Task Force. You will be based in Spain, working alongside an established Spain-based team of 10+ people.

Requirements

  • Around 10 years of experience in fast-paced environments and a strong track record of leading complex, cross-functional initiatives with high ownership and managing small teams.
  • Experience navigating the Spanish consumer market, shaping go-to-market strategies, and driving growth for consumer brands or products.
  • Native-level Spanish.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Based in Spain.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: You love building from scratch, getting hands-on, and taking ownership to make things happen in ambiguous environments.
  • Commercial acumen: You have strong commercial relationship management skills and you’re comfortable networking and building partnerships through local industry events and partner meetings.
  • Problem solving: You are highly analytical and structured. You can break down ambiguous problems, use data to make decisions, and move fast without losing rigor.
  • Execution: You can run multiple workstreams in parallel, prioritize ruthlessly, and deliver at speed with a high bar for quality.
  • Communication: You communicate with clarity and structure, and you can align diverse stakeholders around crisp priorities and decisions.
  • Leadership: You attract great talent, build trust, and help people perform at their best in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Define the Spain launch strategy and roadmap: Build the plan for launching and winning in Spain, align leadership on the ambition, and translate strategy into a clear execution roadmap with milestones.
  • Own Spain’s end-to-end execution: Drive all key launch workstreams hands-on, from market analysis and competitive insights to local positioning and operational readiness, with high standards of speed and quality.
  • Build and lead the local Spain launch team: Recruit, onboard, and directly manage the first local team, and set the operating rhythm that enables fast, high-quality delivery.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally to make Joko Spain-ready: Partner with Product, Engineering, Data, Ops, Care, Finance, Legal, and People to ensure the product, processes, and tooling work smoothly for Spain from day one.
  • Drive local traction across B2B and B2C: Secure the right local partners and ecosystem presence to make Joko valuable from day one, while also shaping the go-to-market approach in Spain. Define the local positioning and messaging, and work with Growth, Brand, and Campaigns to build a user acquisition plan that resonates with Spanish users and compounds over time.
  • Own performance, insights, and course-correction: Track Spain performance closely, surface actionable insights, and adapt the plan fast based on what the data and the market tell us.
