About The Position

The Countering WMD Strategic Threat and Risk Analyst position at Battelle involves supporting a U.S. government client in countering the procurement, stockpiling, and employment of Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD). The role requires applying knowledge of CWMD and CBRN defense activities to assess operational threats and risks, conducting multi-layered research and analysis, and developing actionable insights to mitigate complex threats.

Requirements

  • DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
  • 5+ years relevant experience, BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, Operations Research, or other related scientific or technical discipline.
  • Knowledge of CWMD activities, policy, plans, programs, intelligence, and doctrine.
  • Knowledge of research, analysis, critical thinking, design thinking, data science and geospatial information systems.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of analytical and evaluative techniques and methods.
  • Outstanding writing, speaking, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel inside of the United States; potential for foreign travel overseas.
  • Knowledge and detailed technical experience required of all Microsoft Office products and Adobe Acrobat products.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Operations Research degree from the Naval Post Graduate School or one of the academies.
  • DoD acquisition experience; requirements and capabilities analysis experience.
  • Understanding of risk-based decision support in the DoD Chemical Biological Defense Program.

Responsibilities

  • Applies knowledge of Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) or Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) defense activities to assess operational threat and risk.
  • Develops products that assess the risk to mission and risk to force.
  • Provides analytical, technical, and administrative SME support.
  • Conducts multi-layered, multi-intelligence research and analysis in cooperation with subject matter experts and intelligence analysts.
  • Conducts research, analysis, critical thinking, design thinking, and gap analysis.
  • Performs research and analyzes finished intelligence to support threat and risk products.
  • Identifies emerging technology, WMD, and adversary threat trends to support advice and recommendations for the CWMD Community.
  • Applies knowledge of analytical and evaluative techniques and methods.
  • Analyzes and synthesizes strategic guidance and concepts into operationally relevant products.
  • Supports the application development of data visualization tools to facilitate data sharing and collaboration.
