The Countering WMD Operations in the Information Environment (OIE) Analyst position at Battelle involves providing expert analysis and support to a U.S. government client focused on countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD). The role requires a blend of research, analysis, and operational planning to enhance information capabilities and resilience against foreign narratives and threats. The analyst will work closely with military and government entities to develop strategies and tools that improve the effectiveness of information operations.

  • Provides subject matter expertise in characterizing the Information Environment (IE) and synchronizing information capabilities.
  • Performs quantitative and qualitative assessments related to countering WMD.
  • Conducts research and analysis to understand foreign narratives affecting the organization and its partners.
  • Supports the creation of concepts and plans for messaging initiatives.
  • Monitors and analyzes the foreign information environment to develop assessments for information advantages.
  • Compiles summaries of foreign IE narratives and tracks trends, developing customized products.
  • Integrates IE themes into military plans and exercises based on training and education experience.
  • Develops criteria for measuring the effectiveness of information resilience initiatives.
  • Supports application development of data visualization tools and geospatial information systems.
  • DoD Secret Clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with a BS/BA; 6 years with MS/MA; 3 years with PhD; or 4 additional years of related experience in lieu of BS/BA.
  • Knowledge of the Joint Planning Process and Military Decision-Making Process.
  • Expertise in Military Information Support Operations (MISO) or Psychological Operations (PSYOP).
  • Familiarity with Military Deception (MILDEC), OPSEC, EW, or Cyberspace operations.
  • Knowledge of Countering WMD or CBRN defense programs, plans, policy, intelligence, and doctrine.
  • Outstanding writing, speaking, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel within the U.S. and potential for foreign travel.
  • DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Formal service level training in FA30 career field (Army) or MOS 17XX (USMC).
  • Detailed technical experience with Microsoft Office products and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with IE planning at the service or joint level.
  • Recent joint or service level IE operations planning experience.
  • Completion of Joint C4I/Cyber Staff And Operations Course (JC4ICSOC).
  • Completion of Joint Information Planners' Course and Defense Operations Security Planners Course (DOPC).
  • Completion of Joint Military Deception (MILDEC) Training Course.
