About The Position

The Counter Salesperson is responsible for assisting customers at the sales counter, providing product knowledge, processing orders, and ensuring excellent customer service. This role requires strong knowledge of electrical products, the ability to recommend solutions, and effective communication with contractors, electricians, and walk-in customers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical or trade background preferred)
  • Basic knowledge of electrical products such as wiring, conduit, breakers, lighting, and fittings
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must submit a background check and drug testing

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with electricians and contractors
  • Technical or trade background
  • Familiarity with electrical codes and common industry terminology
  • Previous experience in electrical supply, construction materials, or wholesale distribution
  • Experience with Infor Cloud Suite Distribution software

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and assist them at the sales counter in a professional and friendly manner
  • Provide product information and recommend appropriate electrical supplies and solutions
  • Process sales orders, invoices, and returns using the company’s sales system
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of electrical products, materials, and industry trends
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure timely order fulfillment
  • Handle customer inquiries, pricing requests, and product availability
  • Assist with stock replenishment and product displays at the sales counter
  • Resolve customer issues and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Follow company policies regarding sales, safety, and operations
