About The Position

We are looking for a Counter Sales Associate to join our growing team! We operate 19 branch locations and 13 showrooms throughout Georgia, Tennessee, and South Carolina.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in sales, customer service, or counter sales, preferably in the plumbing wholesale industry.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with customers.
  • Excellent product knowledge and understanding of plumbing materials, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including POS systems, order entry software, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality in all aspects of work.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service and exceeding customer expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers as they arrive at the counter, assess their needs, and provide product recommendations and solutions based on their requirements.
  • Answer inquiries about product availability, specifications, pricing, and application, providing accurate and detailed information to assist customers in making purchasing decisions.
  • Process sales orders, quotes, and invoices accurately and efficiently using the company's order entry system.
  • Verify product availability, pricing, and discounts, and confirm order details with customers to ensure accuracy and satisfaction.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the company's product offerings, including plumbing fixtures, fittings, pipes, valves, and accessories.
  • Stay informed about new products, promotions, and industry trends to effectively educate customers and promote sales opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell or upsell related products and accessories to customers based on their needs and preferences.
  • Provide friendly, professional, and responsive service to all customers, addressing their inquiries, concerns, and requests in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Resolve customer complaints or issues promptly and escalate complex issues to the appropriate supervisor or manager for resolution.
  • Assist with order fulfillment processes, including picking, packing, and staging orders for customer pickup or delivery.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment and minimize order processing errors or delays.
  • Process cash, credit card, and check transactions accurately and securely, following established cash handling procedures and protocols.
  • Balance cash register at the end of each shift and reconcile any discrepancies with supervisor or manager oversight.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at the counter area, adhering to company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues in sales, customer service, warehouse, and management to meet customer needs, resolve issues, and achieve sales targets.
