About The Position

The Counter Sales Representative is the face of our Milwaukee branch, serving as a trusted resource for mechanical and plumbing contractors at the Will Call counter. This role combines technical product knowledge with exceptional customer service to help customers find the right pipe, valve, and fitting (PVF) solutions quickly and accurately. The Counter Sales Representative provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers and demonstrates strict confidentiality with all team members while serving as an ambassador of our culture.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge in pipes, valves and fittings.
  • Ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with both internal team members and external customers.
  • Positive, team-first attitude with the ability to work independently when needed.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Solid mathematical skills for order accuracy and transactions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to communicate in English with regard to the essential functions of the position.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Three (3) years of PVF distribution experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with CSD/TWL systems preferred but not required.
  • Point-of-sale system experience preferred but not required.
  • Prior forklift experience preferred but not required (training available).

Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding service to walk-in and call-in customers by recommending appropriate PVF products and solutions.
  • Troubleshoot customer applications and answer technical product questions with confidence and accuracy.
  • Process cash, check, and credit card transactions using CSD/TWL and point-of-sale systems.
  • Prepare routine reports and maintain accurate sales records.
  • Load, pack, and stage products for customer pickup, ensuring accuracy and care in handling materials.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as dollies, pallet jacks, forklifts, and shrink wrap machines as needed.
  • Assist with warehouse operations and inventory support when required.
  • Operate fabrication equipment as business needs dictate.
  • Adhere to all company safety rules, standards, and guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
