About The Position
CENCAL Auto & Truck Parts Inc., part of the National Automotive Parts Association (NAPA), is seeking a Full-Time Counter Salesperson for our Kingsburg location. This position is crucial for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that our customers receive the right parts and information they need. The ideal candidate will have a friendly and outgoing personality, a strong knowledge of vehicle systems and components, and the ability to communicate effectively with customers. As a Counter Salesperson, you will be responsible for assisting walk-in customers, delivery customers, and telephone shoppers with their automotive parts needs. You will utilize NAPA's extensive parts catalogs and TAMS computer catalog to accurately look up parts applications and provide prompt service. In addition to direct customer interaction, you will also handle various secondary functions such as understanding and communicating product information, performance standards, warranties, and sales programs. You will operate the TAMS point-of-sale system, cash register, and other electronic communication equipment. Daily tasks will include securing parts for customers, managing paperwork such as purchase orders and invoices, and maintaining a clean and organized sales area and stockroom. Training will be provided for specific tasks such as making hydraulic hose assemblies, but a willingness to learn is essential. This role requires a neat appearance, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism. You will need to be flexible with your schedule to meet the business needs and participate in ongoing training as required.
