We have locations throughout New England, New York, and New Jersey. We currently have a Counter Sales Associate opening in our Auburn location. This position operates on a Monday-Friday schedule, 7 am - 4 pm at $22 - 25. As a Counter Sales Associate, you will help identify customer needs, present and answer questions about products and services and recommend solutions. A positive attitude and a desire to promptly resolve potential customer issues or complaints will make you successful in this role.

Requirements

Excellent customer service skills
Practical knowledge of warehouses, data processing, paper flow and operations procedures.
Must have the ability to process transactions and mediate situations among employees and customers as they arise.
Beginner to intermediate to advanced users of the Internet and Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Ability to learn new software quickly and accurately.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
High School Diploma or GED required.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Any lifting from 50-75 would require assistance from another employee.
Prior HVAC experience is required.

Responsibilities

Sell heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment, parts, and supplies.
Greet customers on the sales floor or receive telephone calls and determine the make, type, and quality of merchandise desired. Discusses use and features of various parts; demonstrates use of merchandise.
Display merchandise, suggest selections that meet customer's needs, and emphasize selling points of articles such as quality and utility. Maintain a clean and organized showroom.
Read catalog, or computer for replacement part stock number and price. Advise customers on substitution or modification of part when replacement is not available.
Use computer databases to research the availability of merchandise. Fill customer orders from stock or prepare transfers from other locations. Prepare a sales order or quote order.
Receive payment or obtain credit authorization. Examines defective articles returned by customers to determine if a refund or replacement should be made.
Solicit new and established customers via telephone to promote sales. Resolves or alerts management regarding inventory issues or customer concerns.
Work with clerical staff to check and maintain open orders, purchase orders, and return merchandise purchase orders. Assist in maintaining current and accurate warranty return authorizations and credit adjustments.
Follow direction provided by counter lead (if applicable) and lend support to warehouse staff in their duties.
