About The Position

We are seeking an energetic and customer-focused Counter Person to join our team at Fullers Burger Shack, a high-volume fast-service restaurant specializing in mouthwatering burgers, crispy fries and tots, and a selection of wine and beer. As the face of our restaurant, you will handle orders, serve food and drinks, and create memorable experiences for our guests in a lively, upbeat environment. Requirements

• Previous experience in fast food, casual dining, or customer service (1+ years preferred).
• Must be 21+ years old due to alcohol service.
• Food Handler's certification or willingness to obtain (required by local health codes).
• Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours), lift 20-30 lbs, and work in a hot, busy kitchen environment.
• Excellent communication skills, positive attitude, and ability to multitask under pressure.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions and portions.
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Team player with a passion for food, beer/wine, and delivering top-notch service.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly, take accurate orders via POS system, and upsell menu items like signature burgers, sides (fries/tots), and beverages (wine, beer, soft drinks, shakes).
• Prepare and serve food and drinks quickly while maintaining high standards of hygiene and presentation.
• Handle cash, credit card, and digital payments with speed and accuracy; balance tills at shift end.
• Maintain a clean and organized counter area, including wiping surfaces, restocking condiments/napkins, and ensuring compliance with health/safety regulations.
• Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure seamless order fulfillment and minimize wait times.
• Manage customer inquiries, resolve issues politely, and promote daily specials or promotions.
• Verify age for alcohol service (wine/beer) and adhere to all responsible service laws.
• Assist with opening/closing duties, inventory checks, and light prep work as needed.
