About The Position

The Rehabilitation Counselor for the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation plays a crucial role in assisting patients and their families in navigating the psychological, emotional, and social challenges that arise during recovery and rehabilitation from various health issues. This position involves collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to develop treatment plans and provide counseling services.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in counseling or a related field.
  • National or state licensure or certification in the field of study as required.
  • Competent level of expertise in evaluating and managing psychological, emotional, and social burdens associated with rehabilitation diagnoses.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with the interdisciplinary team and patients.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychosocial assessments to understand the needs of patients.

  • Coordinate referrals to outside agencies to address patient needs.
