About The Position

This is an hourly position only, and constitutes at-will service as needed. Service in this position is temporary, contingent on funding and need, and shall not lead to permanent employment or service for purposes of tenure accrual for certificated employment. Duties: ? The counselor will work with students, Community Colleges, post-secondary tech schools, local support agencies, consortium counselors, GUSD secondary schools and Academic Counselors and families. ? The counselor will work closely with the Mount Madonna High School counselor to ensure a seamless transition to Adult Education. ? The counselor will help students with: personal-educational issues, study skills, time management, college and career goals and employment training opportunities. ? The counselor will help students with their “Get Focused, Stay Focused” curriculum goal setting. ? The counselor will support the students and help with referrals to social programs when necessary. Approximate time commitment: Hourly, week by week it will fluctuate but on average about 5-8 hours per week. Compensation: Paid by time claim (GUSD form #61) at the hourly rates of $41 instruction / $37 non-instruction. Credential Needed: Either an Educational PPS credential or a Social Work credential
