About The Position

The Counselor shall perform the services set forth below under the general direction and supervision of the County. Maintain all credentials and licensing requirements that are necessary to provide mental health and substance use services in the State of Conduct comprehensive screenings and assessments on clients entering treatment to determine appropriate services. Implement appropriate therapeutic interventions for identified areas of concern. Facilitate weekly evidence-based groups in accordance with the group curriculum. Provide individual counseling to clients in need of therapeutic and supportive services on caseload. Update client’s treatment plans every 30 days. Develop, access, and maintain resources to assist with client’s pre and post release plans. Maintain ongoing contact with a caseload not to exceed 25 clients. Maintain appropriate HIPAA compliant electronic health records and case files and for all clinical cases. Maintain accurate up-to-date records to support statistics. Submits weekly and monthly statistics required. Participate in weekly individual clinical supervision and monthly staff meetings with the Clinical Coordinator. Provide rapid mental health screening and response for face-to-face consultations following a critical incident at the detention center as Participate in-service training on mental health and employee wellness related issues. Complete all required continuing education units to maintain professional license in time for renewal. Willingly and conscientiously adheres to the established County Employment Code of Ethics, the ACA codes of ethics and to diligently and responsibly uphold the County’s high standard of customer service. Willingly and cooperatively perform tasks and duties assigned which may not be specifically listed in this contract but are within the occupational category and responsibility level typically associated with the employee’s class of work. Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Criminology, Sociology, Public or closely related field; or an equivalent combination or education and experience.
  • The incumbent must possess and maintain one of the following licenses or certifications: Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW-C), Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW), or Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC)Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) Certified Addiction Counselor - Alcohol and Drugs (CAC- AD) Certified Supervised Counselor - Alcohol and Drugs (CSC - AD)
