Malvern Treatment Centers is currently seeking a full-time Counselor, to join our Clinical Service Department. This position is a full time benefits eligible position working with a dynamic Clinical Services team, supporting those in their recovery from drug and alcohol dependency. This position requires an understanding and experience of working with adults in a trauma informed care setting. The mission of the Counselor is to counsel patients regarding all aspects of their addiction. He or she must be an active member of the treatment team in the formulation of assessments, treatment plans, diagnostic summaries, progress notes, and continuing care planning. The Counselor will provide supportive individual counseling, conduct group therapy, and review clients at case conferences with other team members. He or she must have excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills to provide these services to clients with chemical dependencies. The ideal candidate MUST have a Master's degree or higher from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, Human Services, or other related field that includes a practicum in a health or human service agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting . If a candidate’s experience did not take place in a drug and alcohol setting, his or her written training plan must specifically address a plan to achieve counseling competency in chemical dependency issues. He or she must have full certification in this state as an Addictions Counselor and must be licensed in this state if a Registered Nurse (RN). In addition, he or she must be skilled in using Microsoft Office and must be able to function calmly in a crisis situation.
