As a Counselor, you will play a vital role in assisting individuals with mental health and substance use disorders to enhance their daily living and work capabilities. Requirements

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in a human services field (non-licensed), and/or certification as a Qualified Addiction Professional (QAP) as defined by the Missouri Credentialing Board.
  • Current driver’s license and auto insurance with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must successfully complete all background checks.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required within three months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Credentials including Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or Licensed Addictions Counselor (LAC), among others, are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complete the intake, screening, and assessment process within state regulatory time frames.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment information per regulatory guidelines.
  • Facilitate group counseling and education sessions, focusing on recovery from substance use.
  • Document all services provided in compliance with state agency standards.
  • Handle crises effectively to ensure the safety and well-being of clients.
  • Engage in ongoing training and adhere to continuing education requirements.
