About The Position

The Counselor at Dismas Charities plays a crucial role in the supervision and implementation of counseling and treatment programs for individuals in community-based adult re-entry programs. This position focuses on assisting clients in their rehabilitation journey, ensuring compliance with agency policies, and fostering productive community reintegration.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in social human services, criminal justice, or behavioral science from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of one year of experience in human services or community-based services.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Experience with Windows 2000 or XP operating systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
• Understanding of basic PC concepts and operation of common office machinery.
• Good typing, spelling, grammar, organizational, and phone skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and implement agency policies and procedures related to counseling and treatment programs.
• Develop, coordinate, monitor, evaluate, and document individual program planning according to client needs.
• Guide, monitor, and document resident movement, behavior, and progress.
• Utilize the FreshStart Client Management System in a timely manner.
• Submit resident release plans, home confinement plans, and termination letters promptly.
• Communicate relevant information to supervisory staff regarding the agency, facility, and residents.
• Provide staff duty coverage as scheduled.
• Attend and participate in all required meetings.
• Initiate and maintain effective liaison activities with supervising authorities, community groups, and professional associations.
• Work all necessary hours in the event of a work stoppage.
• Perform other assigned duties as needed.
