About The Position

We're seeking a reliable and compassionate Counselor I to join our Outpatient Services team in Knoxville, TN. This role provides critical support to our therapists and plays a key role in coordinating patient discharges, ensuring continuity of care and smooth transitions.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Able to get your CPRS in the first 6 months if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of experience in addiction treatment with direct patient contact
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Understanding of recovery principles and outpatient treatment models
• If in recovery, at least 2 years of continuous verifiable sobriety

Nice To Haves

• Undergraduate degree in Behavioral Science or Certified Addiction Counselor (C.A.C.) preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to therapists with patient documentation and session coordination
• Assist in patient intake, orientation, and engagement in recovery goals
• Facilitate discharge coordination, including planning and communication with patients and families
• Monitor patient progress and report to the assigned therapist or manager
• Maintain timely and accurate records in compliance with regulatory standards
• Promote a positive and therapeutic outpatient environment
