About The Position

The Counselor position at Fellowship Hall is essential for delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to guests through individual and group counseling sessions. The role involves developing psychosocial histories, assessments, personalized treatment plans, and referrals, while also documenting treatment progress and facilitating educational materials. The Counselor is expected to work independently and participate in staff training and performance improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Human Services field (Associate Degree accepted for hires prior to 2014)
  • At least 1 year of experience in chemical dependency treatment
  • State Certification (preferred licenses include MSW, LCMHC, LCAS, LCSW-A, LCAS-A, LCMHC-A, or CSAC)
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • Crisis intervention training, such as NCI+

  • Master Addiction Counselor (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Documents treatment progress, orientation, discharge, and other relevant records
  • Delivers educational materials to guests
  • Actively participates in staff training and ongoing performance improvement initiatives
  • Demonstrates age-appropriate care skills for diverse client needs
  • Facilitates Early Recovery Group sessions as assigned
  • Continuously monitors therapy program effectiveness, providing feedback to the Clinical Director
