About The Position

As a Counselor, you will provide therapeutic services that help patients and families navigate illness, strengthen coping skills, and maintain optimal functioning. You’ll conduct comprehensive assessments, develop and implement treatment plans, and ensure individuals are connected with the right resources at the right time. This is a role for someone who brings both clinical skill and genuine empathy to every interaction. What You’ll Do Provide professional counseling services with a high level of autonomy Complete psychosocial and mental health assessments to guide treatment Diagnose and support patients and families through therapeutic interventions Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans Offer education, counseling, and crisis support as needed Connect patients with appropriate community resources and social service programs Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote holistic, patient‑centered care What You Bring Education Master’s degree in Counseling from an accredited institution Experience One year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred Licensure/Certification State licensure required based on degree Must hold at least a graduate‑level license LCSW‑C licensure from the Maryland Board of Social Workers required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong understanding of counseling principles, practices, and professional standards Knowledge of community organizations and social service programs Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds Skilled in building rapport, supporting families, and navigating sensitive conversations Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient‑centered care If you’d like, I can also create: A shorter version for job boards A “day in the life” narrative Knockout questions A version tailored for social media or internal recruitment channels Caring for Our Team We offer a comprehensive benefits package to support our employees' well-being and professional growth. Requirements

• Master’s degree in Counseling from an accredited institution
• One year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred
• State licensure required based on degree
• Must hold at least a graduate‑level license
• LCSW‑C licensure from the Maryland Board of Social Workers required
• Strong understanding of counseling principles, practices, and professional standards
